I have always followed politics, but running for public office was not something I ever seriously considered. The 2024 election was a wake-up call for me, and I have seen the same hyper-partisan rhetoric and cynicism that infects our national politics is increasingly present in our local affairs. I decided to take my concern about the state of our democracy and turn it into something positive.
I care about our community and believe that a transparent and accountable government can be a force for good. If I am fortunate enough to represent the citizens of East Vancouver on the Charter Review Commission this will always be my guiding principle.
I also have a lifelong interest in structural reform of government. While our county government has made great strides under the Home Rule Charter, there is always room for improvement. If elected, I pledge to work together in good faith with my fellow citizen commissioners to find common ground so that - with your support - Clark County can continue to thrive.
While I am an attorney by training, my professional background is in construction management. I am proud to live and work in Vancouver, where I managed renovations of Evergreen public schools and supported local Union construction and manufacturing jobs.
In the construction industry, you learn how to work together with a diverse array of people with unique perspectives in service of a common goal. I hope to bring that same experience to the Clark County Charter Review Commission.
